Lunda Sul: Ex fighters call for support
Saurimo - Former combatants and veterans of the homeland in eastern Lunda Sul province have asked the provincial government’s assistance in implementation of programmes to improve agricultural and other activities to support the families livelihood.

The call was made during a meeting the provincial governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, held with the members of the sector on Tuesday.
The former combatants demanded, among others, an increase of their subsidies from Akz 23,000 to 100,000 Kwanzas.
They also requested an increase in internal and external scholarships for their children.
The members also demanded residences and industrial undertakings for integration of young people into the labour market.
The province of Lunda Sul has 14, 682 members, of whom 7, 939 former combatants, 623 war disabled, 190 ex fighters’ widows and 5, 840 orphans.

Luanda - The Angolan state recognizes the regime of special protection accorded to former combatants and veterans of Homeland, and assumes the duty to create, provide and organize normative, institutional, human, material financial and other mechanisms to guarantee their implementation.
