NGOs develop over 60 social projects

Luanda - At least sixty seven social projects are being developed in the country in the education and health sectors by 47 non-governmental organizations, announced Tuesday in Luanda, Minister of Social Action, Family and Women's Promotion, Faustina Ingles Alves.

According to the official, who was speaking at the meeting with the NGOs, the projects are being implemented in the provinces of Benguela, Cuanza Sul and Luanda aimed at the most vulnerable communities.

Data from the Institute for the Promotion and Coordination of Community Assistance (IPROCAC) indicate that there are 437 NGOs in the country, being 400 national and 37 foreign ones.

Of this total, 395 are associations, nine foundations and 31 religious institutions active in the fields of education, health, agriculture, social work, community development, human rights and transport.

The ministry wants NGOs to continue to work to increase the efficiency of social sector public policies, innovate in solutions and optimize results.

The Cabinet minister added that the institutions should realign their actions in line with the broad national objectives and programs set out in the National Development Plan NDP 2018/2022.
