Caio da Silva Mota, 19, was arrested last November, in the arrival hall of the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, coming from Brazil, with more than 100 cocaine capsules in his stomach.
During the trial, the defendant confessed that he landed in Luanda, for a short stopover, in transit to S. Tomé and Príncipe.
During the assessment of the facts, the judge of the case, Adélio Chocolate, said that the defendant was moved by the need for survival, when contacted by an allegedly Nigerian national, and was used as a "mule".
Thus, the air ticket was paid to him, destined for S. Tomé and Príncipe, as evidenced by the boarding passes seized in the possession of the accused.
In the trial, the judge stressed that it was international drug trafficking, due to the fact that the defendant crossed the Atlantic Ocean, from the State of São Paulo (Brazil), showing boldness due to the quantity of drugs transported.
