In the last 24 hours, religious leaders of the Angola synodal evangelical church (IESA), (evangelical congregational church in Angola) IECA and ''MESA'' were detained, as reported last Monday, in a press conference, by the spokesman for the defence and security forces, Waldemar José.

The aforementioned leaders, who are to be summarily tried for contempt of authority, were detained in the provinces of Huíla, Namibe, Lunda Sul and Cuanza Sul.

Also in the last 24 hours, there was an increase in acts of civil disobedience, leading the authorities to detain 334 nationals and 167 foreigners, on the border, for illegal immigration, and seized 37 vehicles and 234 motorized.

He also expressed concern about the growing number of citizens who are moving from one province to another, via trucks authorized to move with merchandise.

When that happens, he said, citizens are invited to return to their place of origin and, in case of resistance, they are arrested.

"We are watchful and we’ll redouble our vigilance to maintain public order and tranquillity," he stressed.

With the two cases announced on Monday, the country now registers 16 positive cases, including two deaths, two recovered and the rest being treated.

So far, all positive cases registered in the country have been imported, with no infection at the community level.
