The deaths, averaging two per week, involve people with ages ranging from 25 to 60 years, mostly patients suffering from other chronic conditions.
In the three previous months, the covid-19 toll in the country stood at four deaths, after it broke out in December last year in China and spread around the world.
On the last day of June (30), the secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, announced the death of two people of 48 and 38 years of age in the last 24 hours until Monday evening.

As expected, June as the first month of winter in Angola recorded a steep rise in covid-19 infections, out of 182 detected in Angola.
Contrary to April and May that reported 19 and 51 infections , respectively, June broke all records since March (16 cases), beginning of the pandemic
So, June has been proving to be comparatively endemic, after reporting five positive cases of the new coronavirus in the first seven days, rising to 52 in the second week, to 43 in the third and 82 in the fourth and last week.
Northern Cuanza Norte province, over 200 kilometres off Luanda, joined the statistics in June with three cases of locally transmitted infections and one death, linked to the former sanitary cordon of Hoji-Ya-Henda neighbourhood, Luanda’s high density municipality of Cazenga.
