Covid-19: Religious activity in Luanda, Cazengo remain banned

Luanda - Religious activity, especially cults, in Luanda and Cazengo municipality, Cuanza Norte, remains closed, due to the prevailing sanitary cordon imposed to these regions.

According to the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, this has been instructed in the new Presidential Decree, to be in force between August 10 and September 08 this year.

The State minister, who presented the new measures adopted by the Angolan government to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, explained that for provinces where religious activity is allowed it must be restricted to 150 people inside the premises.

Regarding gatherings, the official said that they remain at the limit of 15 people in the home space and 10 in the public places, adding gatherings of any kind remain prohibited at party halls.

The minister clarified that the organizer of an activity in a party hall and the respective owner of the space, risk pay a fine from 100,000 to 150,000 kwanzas.
