The change is in line with Presidential Decree 105/19 of 29 March, which approves the reform of the state underway in the country and which has already resulted in the merger of several public institutes and ministries.
Following that reduction, MASFAMU now has 12 management and leadership posts, as opposed to the previous 15. It moves from 23 department heads to 13 and reduces technical support services from eight to six.
With the new organisational framework, the Legal and Exchange Offices have been merged, which is now called the Legal and Exchange Office, and the Inspection Office has been abolished.
Faustina Alves, Minister of Social Action, Family and Women's Promotion, said in the act that the resizing was aimed at rationalising financial resources, with the structural expenses of public administration.
The measure also aims at greater control over the functioning of the services and reducing the high number of hierarchical positions.
In the framework of the new structure of MASFAMU, the Minister Faustina Alves swore in today Fátima Cabral as national director of Social Action, Santa Ernesto as national director for Family Policies, Equality and Gender Equity and Inês da Silva as national director of Inclusion of the Person with Disability.
