Africa with 549 more deaths and 16,015 infected with corona-virus in the last 24 hours – Africa

In the last 24 hours, Africa recorded an additional 549 deaths from covid-19 for a total of 94,196 deaths, and 16,015 new cases of infection, according to the latest official pandemic data on the continent.

According to the African Union’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the total number of infected people in the 55 member states of the organization is 3,642,975 and the number recovered in the last 24 hours is 21,123, for one total of 3,149,657 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Southern Africa remains the most affected region, with 1,738,483 infected and 51,038 killed. South Africa, the country hardest hit by the covid-19 on the continent, records 1,470,516 cases and 45,903 deaths.
