Golungo Alto - Over 350,000 coffee seedlings of Robust and Arabic species have been produced so far in this year's agricultural campaign, against 240,460 of the previous year, by the National Coffee Institute (INCA) and partners, in order to reactivate and increase harvest levels.

According to the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, João Cunha, production of seedlings is due to the ongoing need to renew coffee plantations, one of the axes to which this ministerial department is dedicated with "great importance.

The Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, João Cunha, who was speaking Friday in Cacanga, Golungo Alto municipality, in Cuanza Norte province, at the official opening of the national campaign for the coffee harvest in the country noted that the ministry had provided 104,220 seedlings to farmers, which had made it possible to set up 54 hectares of new plantations in Huambo, Bié and Huila provinces.

According to João Cunha, this process was accompanied by technicians from the National Coffee Institute and the producers benefited from specific training and technical assistance on how to set up plantations.
