Caxito - Forty-four agricultural field schools in the province of Bengo benefited, today, in Caxito, from about 18 million 348 thousand Kwanzas, under the Project for Strengthening the Resilience of Family Farmers (SREP).
Coming from the International Fund for Agrarian Development (IFAD), the funding aims to boost production capacity and increase production levels in the province's 44 field schools.
The municipality of Dande with 16 schools received six million 672 thousand Kwanzas, Nambuangongo (13 schools) received five million 421 Kwanzas, Dembos (11 schools) benefited from four million 587 thousand Kwanzas, while Pango Aluquém with four schools was contemplated with one million 668 thousand Kwanzas.
The vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector, José Bartolomeu Pedro, said that the amounts must be properly applied for the project to be successfully implemented.
The head of the Department of the Institute of Agrarian Development (IDA) in Bengo, Dulce Kebeca Sacala, explained that the fund for the reinforcement of field schools is intended for the acquisition of production factors and equipment that facilitate learning conditions and strengthen the management of financial resources.
The project was launched in 2021, in the province of Bengo, and has already trained 1,540 associate members, divided into 44 agricultural field schools.
The beneficiaries of this project received knowledge of production techniques, pest identification and other agricultural procedures. MD/CJ/IF/DOJ
