Luanda- An Angolan delegation, headed by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Carolina Cerqueira, is due to take part on 2 and 3 June, in Stockholm, Sweden, in the United Nations conference on the environment, "Stockholm+50".
This information is contained in a press note released by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment (MCTA), that stresses that the event will provide world leaders the opportunity to agree on a multilateral environmental action, to ensure a better future and a healthier planet.
Under the motto: "A Healthy Planet for the Prosperity of Total Responsibility, Our Opportunity", the conference on the environment will take place 50 decades after the United Nations conference on the "Human Environment", in 1972.
According to the note, the aim of the meeting is Sustainable Development in Angola, a global call for action to end poverty, protect the environment and climate and ensure that people everywhere can enjoy peace and prosperity.
The Angolan delegation includes the Minister of the MCTA, Filipe Zau, the governor of Luanda, Ana Paula de Carvalho, the deputy governor of Zaire, Ângela Maria Botelho Diogo and the Secretary of State for Environment, Paula Cristina Francisco Coelho.
The conference is organized by the United Nations, with the support of the Kenyan government.
