MCTA wants sustainable use of the planet's resources

  • Culture, Environment department defends sustainable use of the planet's resources
Luanda - The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment (MCTA) highlighted, on Thursday, in Luanda, the need to conserve the environmental balance and the sustainable use of the planet's resources, as they are fundamental factors to satisfy the current needs and the generations to come.

According to a ministerial note sent to ANGOP, in the ambit of the commemoration of the World Earth Day (Apr 22) the ministerial department adds that human activities have accelerated the natural changes of the land, changing the climate, the characteristics of the soil, the water and other components important to its survival.

To this reason, it draws attention to the extreme dependence between human beings and the ecological balance of the planet, in relation to the serious pressures that human activities are exerting on that same balance.

The MCTA advances that the anniversary serves to reinforce the actions of sensitization of the populations in the adoption of good environmental practices, in the perspective of environmental preservation and protection, with a view to guaranteeing the desirable environmental quality.

The programme of activities reserves, until the 30th of the current month, workshops, tree planting and awareness campaigns.
