Basketball:  National team coach confident of Afrobasket qualifying

Luanda – Angola’s national basketball team coach, José Neto, on Tuesday said he is convinced that his team will qualify for the 2021 Afrobasket of 2021, whose qualifying stage starts Wednesday in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

Speaking to the sport Radio 5, the coach said that despite the short time of preparation, the group lives a period of adaptation, and expects the players to put into practice the concepts worked to overcome the opponents in this first qualifying stage.

Angola face Mozambique on Wednesday, followed by Kenya and Senegal, opponents considered difficult by the coach, especially for the quick way of playing.

The qualifying matches for Afrobasket 2021 will be played in Kigali (Rwanda), from 25 to 29 November.

Angola is in Group B, together with Senegal, Mozambique and Kenya.

Angola will play the first match against Mozambique, on November 27.

 In the next round they will face Kenya and finally, on November 29 Senegal.

The first three top teams qualify for Afrobasket`2021.
