Luanda – The Angola National Under-16 Women's National Basketball team on Friday in Monastir city, Tunisia, were defeated by Egypt 34-75 and failed to qualify for the final of the African Championship of the category (Afrobasket2023).
In the semi-final match, played at the Salles Mohamed Mzali Arena, Angola were overcome in every partial period, so the results were 11-12 (first quarter), 12-32, 2-16 and 9-15.
With such result, the Angolan team will play Tunisia to define the third or fourth place of the competition.
On the same day, in the other semi-final, the Malian team defeated Tunisia 87-54 and in the final they will face the Egyptians.
On the other hand, the Angolan team will play the Guinean counterpart also in the semi-final on Saturday.
