Luanda - The national senior women's handball team, who will compete in the African Games in Accra, Ghana, from the 13th to the 22nd of March, will record the absences of goalkeeper Teresa de Almeida "Bá" and centre back Natália Bernardo.

The two experienced players from Petro de Luanda (Bá) and 1.º de Agosto (Natália) are not among those chosen for the continental competition.

With regular presence in the national teams, both competed in the last World Championship, played between November 29th and December 17th, 2023, in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

Of the nineteen players called up on Wednesday by the coach, Carlos Viver, twelve are from 1.º de Agosto and seven from Petro de Luanda.

Preparation begins next Monday and ends on March 8, the day before the trip to the competition stage.

Angola is looking to revalidate the title obtained in 2019, in Rabat (Morocco) by beating Cameroon in the final, by 28 -25.
