Luanda – Angola national judo team won two gold medals in the women's category on Thursday in the qualifying match for the African Judo Open taking place in the country’s capital, Luanda.

Odete Pedro (78kg) and Alzira Paixão (78kg) are the fighters who won medals.Burundi and Paraguay won bronze medals each.

Botswana, Cameroon, Essuatini and São Tomé and Príncipe, also take part in the event.

This is the second time Angola hosts the event, after the first in 2023, at Luanda's Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion.
