Luanda – The National futsal team are in Group A of the 7th Africa Cup of Nations, along with Morocco (hosts), Ghana and Zambia.

These data result from the draw held on Thursday at the Mohamed VI Complex in Rabat, where 8 national teams were placed in 2 groups of 4 each for the event, to be played from the 8th to the 17th of April.

The tournament hosts and current African champions, Morocco, head an interesting group made up of Angola, 3rd placed in 2020, Ghana, runner-sup in 1996, as well as Zambia, who return to the tournament after losing the 2020 edition.

In Group B, Egypt, who fell short in the 2020 final, face Libya, the 2008 champions, as well as Namibia and Mauritania, who are making their debut in continental finals.

Egypt is currently the most successful TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON nation, with three titles, followed by current champions Morocco (two titles), while Libya has one title, following the triumph in 2008, as host.

The top 2 in each group will advance to the semi-finals of the competition, which qualifies the top threefor the World Championship, to be held in Uzbekistan between September 14th and October 6th this year.
