Luanda – Angola is in qualifying Group D (African zone) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be played from June 8 to July 19, in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

In the same pairing, the National Team will meet Cape Verde, another Portuguese-speaking country, Cameroon, Eswatini, Mauritius and Libya, according to the draw of the African Football Confederation (CAF), held Thursday, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

Held after the 45th Ordinary Assembly of CAF, the ceremony was attended by an Angolan delegation, headed by the chairperson of the soccer Federation (FAF), Artur Almeida e Silva, also comprising the secretary general, Fernando Rui Costa and the second vice-chairperson, Paulo Neto.

Angolan national team played the World Cup in 2006 in Germany for the first and only time.  VAB/DOJ
