Luanda - The senior males national basketball team defeated the Kenyan squad by 83-66, in a game of the 2nd round of the first stage for qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AfroBasket), a game played last Thursday in Kigali, Rwanda.

This is the Angolan team's second victory in this stage of the competition, after having beaten Mozambique (87-58) last Wednesday, which opens up good prospects for qualification for the final stage of the continental competition.

By half-time, Angolans were already ahead of the score by 25-15, a game played at the Arena pavilion.

The national team face Senegal at 7 pm on Friday, in the last of the first three challenges of the initial phase, at a time when Angola have  already secured the pass to the next phase.

The second qualification stage matches will start in February next year.
