Luanda - The former point guard of the senior men's national basketball team, Armando Costa, is to hold the vice-presidency position for 1º de Agosto Club’s basketball discipline, as from the 8th of this month.

The African champion in the 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 editions is part of the list of the club’s president-elect Sá Miranda, elected on Saturday (30) to the presidency of the “military” club (1º de Agosto's nickname), in an election in which he defeated the candidate Egas Viegas, after the outgoing president, Carlos Hendrick, gave up the race.

Armando Costa arrived at 1.º de Agosto in 2005, coming from Queluz in Portugal and will now fill a position where Raúl Hendrick, Fernando Barbosa and Moniz Silva have already been.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for April 8th.

The 1.º de Agosto club, based on Avenida Revolucão de Outubro, in Maianga district, Luanda, was founded in 1977.
