Athletics: Former Angolan sprinter dies

Luanda - The former Angolan sprinter and director of the Institute of Physical Education (INEF) André Kitongo died Monday in Luanda, victim of an illness, ANGOP has learned.

The information was confirmed by a source from the Petro de Luanda, club where, until the date of his death, he was head of the Athletics and Gymnastics Department.

André Kitongo was a former physical education teacher and mentor of number of national coaches in distinct modalities.

In 2017, he started to perform only administrative functions, after more than 30 years working in the "field".

Besides being a physical education teacher and director of the Normal Institute of Physical Education (INEF), he was also vice-president of the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA).
