Luena – Angola’s Petro de Luanda football team striker Tiago Azulão has currently scored seven goals in the Africa Champions League and has the chance to equal or surpass the competition’s top scorer on Saturday, in the first-leg encounter with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.

The 30-year-old Brazilian striker is three goals away from the competition's record held by former Malian internationals Mamadou Diallo and Ghana’s Emmanuel Clottey.

In 2004, Mamadou Diallo scored 10 goals for Algeria's USM Alger, equaled eight years later in 2012 by Ghana's Emmanuel Clottey of Ghana’s Berekum Chelsea FC.

On Saturday, Tiago Azulão will have the opportunity to score three or more goals to equal or surpass the mark.

Even if he fails to do so in the first match, the only Brazilian in the list of top scorers of an African league can do so in the second leg or in the final, should Petro de Luanda achieve such an unprecedented feat.

Holder of the fastest goal of the "Champions", scored in the game against Sagrada Esperança, at 16 seconds, Tiago Azulão is in a position to overtake the striker Yasir Mozamil, who scored five goals for Al Hilal of Sudan, already eliminated in the group stage - A.
