Petro de Luanda play Dynamo BBC on Tuesday in African Basketball League

Pretoria - Petro de Luanda team and Dynamo BBC of Burundi will face off on Tuesday, in the opening game of the third round of the Kalahari Conference of the African Basketball League (BAL), which is taking place in Pretoria, South Africa.

To prepare for the game, Petro de Luanda held their only training session of the day behind closed doors, lasting an hour and a half.

During the session, coach José Neto was very incisive about improving the defence, which was lacking in the first two games, Saturday and Sunday.

On the other hand, the Angolan model and tourism ambassador in the country, Maria Borges, who has been following the team's matches in the competition since Saturday, visited the Petro de Luanda team after training on Monday, where she spoke to the coaches, players and managers.

The top model, who lives in the United States of America (USA), is one of the figures invited by the tournament organisers to attend the Kalahari Conference until the 17th.

Coached by José Neto, in their opening game, Petro de Luanda lost 73-82 to Fus de Rabat and beat Cape Town Tigers 100-88.

The competition is led by Fus de Rabat, with four points. In the next positions are Petro de Luanda and Dynamo, both with three points, while the team from Cape Town is in fourth place with two points and the same number of defeats.

The first two teams qualify for the final phase to be held in Kigali, Rwanda to take place from 24 May to 1 June.
