Basketball: Angola defeat Senegal

Luanda - The national senior male basketball team beat Senegal by 82-51, in the last match of the tournament qualifier for the African Cup of Nations (Afrobasket2021) and that ended this Sunday, at the sports pavilion in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

With both teams already qualified, the Angolans played for honour, after Saturday's defeat by Kenya, by 74-73, for group B.

 

Winning at half-time by 44-30, Angola’s Pedro Bastos was the best scorer of the game with 24 points.

 

Partial results with the Angolan national team always leading: 20 - 19, 24 - 11, 14 - 9 and 24 - 12.

 

Also on this same day, Mozambique beat Kenya 71-44, but did not qualify for the continental event, unlike the Senegalese, Angolans and Kenyans.

 

Afrobasket2021 will run from August 25 to September 5 in Kigali, Rwanda.
