Basketball: 12 players summoned for Afrobasket2021 in Yaoundé

Luanda – The point guard Jacques da Conceição, the shooting guard Zé António and the center Aboubakar Gakou will be absent for technical reasons in the national basketball team for the second window of the qualification to Afrobasket2021 from 19 to 21 this month in Yaoundé Cameroon.

The three players were part of the 12 athletes that played in the first window in Rwanda being Aboubakar the most used player and the fourth top scorer of the national team in the race that took place in November 2020.

Other excused absences are of Sílvio de Sousa who is unable to leave the United States as a result of the legal proceedings against him and Yanick Moreira who showed unavailable.

The competition should mark the debut of the 21-year old center player Jilson Bango who plays for 1º de Agosto.

The qualifying tournament will take place in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from 19 to 21 this month.

Here are the selected players:

Childe Dundão, Melvy da Silva, Leonel Paulo, Alexandre Jungo, Pedro Bastos, Gerson Domingos, Gerson Lukeny, Jone Pedro, Jilson Bango, Valdelicio Joaquim, Gildo Santos and Carlos Morais.
