Petro lose, miss African League final

Luanda – Angola’s Petro de Luanda were defeated on Saturday by Egypt’s Zamalek 71-89, in the semi-finals of the African Basketball League (BAL) and missed the chance to reach the final of  the tournament taking place  in Kigali (Rwanda).

The Angolan side were losing at the break by 14 points and when it was expected for improvements in the second half, the opponent reached, during the third period, the significant advantage of 22 points (66-44), the largest of the match.

The team face the loser of the match between Tunisia’s US Monastir and Rwanda’s Patriots to contest for the third place of the tournament.
