Sumbe - Petro de Luanda cyclist Bruno Araújo won this Monday the third stage of the second edition of the “Volta a Angola cycling tour”, also dubbed "Pepino'2023", with a time of 4h:58min and 36 secs.

The 170 kilometer race, which started in the Kaponte neighborhood, in the municipality of Lobito, in the Province of Benguela, and ended in the commune of Kicombo, in the municipality of Sumbe, province of Cuanza Sul.

Bruno Araújo had a "Sprint", at the end, with three opponents, namely Cristian Ramon, from Amadores Ciclo Turismo, Igor Silva, from Jair Transporte, and Euclides Chingu, from Amador Ciclo Turismo.

The cyclist won with a difference of tenths. Cristian Roman got the 2nd position, with 4h:58min 36 secs and 10 tenths.

Igor Silva, from the Jair Transporte team, followed in the third position, with 4h:58min 36 secs and 13 tenths.

In this way, Huambo, with Euclides Chingui (5 km prologue), Benguela with Igor Silva (150 km distance) and Luanda, with Bruno Araújo (17 km distance) all won each stage.

At each stage, athletes faced several challenges, including potholes, drivers who do not respect the guidelines of the National Police, in addition to the often adverse weather.

The fourth stage, Tuesday, will also be a 180 km long distance race, starting in Porto Amboim (Cuanza Sul) and ending in Parque da Kissama (Luanda).

The caravan will spend the night in Sumbe (Cuanza Sul), in the early hours of Tuesday it leaves for Porto Amboim.
