Luanda - Angola national senior football team beat Bahrain 3-0 on Wednesday in their last friendly game held in Dubai ahead of the team’s participation in the Africa Cup Nations (CAN`2023) to take place from January 13 to February 11 in Côte d'Ivoire.

In the match played at the Dubai Police Club pitch in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Angolan team's goals were scored by Mabululo, twice, and Núrio Fortuna.

The two teams played for the first time, with Bahrain preparing for the Asian Championship.

This was Angola’s second preparation game for CAN, after a goalless draw with Democratic Republic of Congo.

Angola are in group D with Algeria, Burkina Faso and Mauritania. The team face Algeria in their opening game.

CAN2023 was due to take place in 2023, however, due to the heavy rainfall in the region, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to hold it this year. GVA/DAN/AMP
