Luanda - The Angolan national football team will have the support of more than 500 fans for the match against Nigeria Friday (6pm) at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON`2023), taking place in Côte d`Ivoire.

In this 34th edition of the competition, Angola drew in the first round of Group D with Algeria (1-1), a contender for the title, followed by wins against Mauritania (3-2), Burkina Faso (2-0) and Namibia (3-0), which enabled them to reach this stage.

The CAN, initially scheduled for 2023, was moved to this year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to heavy rain season in Côte d'Ivoire. VAB/MRA/DOJ
