After beating the Namibian team, 0-3, in the round of 16, the “Palancas Negras” (Angolan National Team nickname) will play on Friday, at 6 pm, in Abidjan, with Nigeria, for the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Angolan striker Gelson Dala, currently second with four goals, has a chance of overtaking his colleague, Emílio Nsue, from Equatorial Guinea (5 goals), already out of the competition.

Mabululo (Angola), with three goals, also enters the race to win the “Golden” boot at this summit of continental football.

In the immediate positions are Lanene Camara (Senegal), Mostafa Mohamed (Egypt), Bertrand Traore (Burkina Faso), Lassine Sinayoko (Mali), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria) and Joirdan Ayew (Ghana), all with two goals each.

The CAN, initially scheduled for 2023, was transferred by the African Football Confederation (CAF) to this year, due to heavy rain season in Côte d’Ivoire. VAB/DOJ
