Luanda - Emerse Faé aged 41 has become the third young African coach, after Egyptian Abdel-Fattah and Ghanaian Fred Osam-Duodu, to win the African Nations Championship (CAN'2023) in football, which was held from 13 January to 11 February 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire.

Former midfielder Faé, who was appointed midway through the competition following the dismissal of 70-year-old Frenchman Jean-Louis Gasset due to poor results by the Côte d'Ivoire national team, made a great comeback and won his third title on home soil.

Despite losing, the Ivorians didn't let their heads drop and managed to win 2-1 against a similar Nigeria side on Sunday in the final match of CAN 2023, played at the Ebimpé Olympic Stadium in Abidjan, with Emerse Faé becoming a "hero" as interim coach.

Charles Gyamfi (Ghana, 1963) - 35 years old.
