Luanda - The point guard Carlos Morais has been called up to join Angola national basketball ahead of their participation in the Africa Men's Senior Basketball Championship (CAN), from August 24 to September 5, in Kigali, Rwanda.

The seasoned player from Petro de Luanda was removed from the national team that will start on August 29 the pre-Olympic tournament in Lithuania, qualifying for the Olympic Games next August in Tokyo (Japan) after failing to show up in time for training.

The decision of the Angola Basketball Federation to remove the player from the national team was due to the fact that the athlete presented himself for the training after the stipulated deadline following his participation in the African Clubs League.

Morais was MVP in 2007, 2009 and 2013 CAN, best "triple player" in Africa Championship, in 2009, in Libya.
