1º de Agosto and Clube Náutico take over zonal IV trial

Luanda – The 1º de Agosto swimmer Luyane Costa, with a time of 40 minutes and 21 seconds, and the Clube Náutico Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda (CNIL) swimmer Welwicthia Silva, with a mark of 43 minutes and 10 seconds, won Saturday in Luanda, the test of 3,000 meters for preparation to the African zonal IV, in open water, both in male and female.

In the competition took place on the beach of Ilha de Luanda (Luanda Island), the 1º de Agosto representative beat his team partner Jeovane Silva, second place with 44 minutes and 59 seconds and Rildo Francisco from Clube Náutico who finished third with 45 minutes and 23 seconds.

Regarding the female category, Welwicthia Silva beat her team partner Inara Santos, second place with 45 minutes and 23 seconds and Lucrécia Gomes from Clube Naval third place with 01:1 min.

The competition, which involved 30 cross-country swimmers, also included a start of the 4,000 meters, whose results had not been disclosed until the end of the race inserted in the preparation for the zonal IV, to be held in Luanda, from 3 to May 7.

The African Zone IV Championship will be held in the country's capital for the second time, after the 2015 edition.
