Luanda – China and Angola Monday in Luanda identified various areas for prospective cooperation, as part of the efforts to strengthen existing relations between the two countries in the sports domain.

This was during a meeting between the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, and the chairmen of the Olympic and Paralympic Committees, Gustavo da Conceição and Leonel da Rocha Pinto, respectively.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the exchange of experience between the two countries, especially in sports where China is a world power, including training.

On the occasion, the parties also discussed China’s readiness to donate three to four thousand Covid-19 texts for the national sport.

This is in view of Angola’s prospective participation in the Olympic Games of 24 July – 9 August and in the Paralympic Games of 24 August – 6 September this year, in Tokyo, Japan. The Ministry of Youth and Sports has secured the tests for both delegations.

Angola and China are two strategic partners, having the political and diplomatic relations met a remarkable increment since the year 2000, which has led to the signing of several cooperation deals in the social, commercial and trade sectors.

Ambassador Gong Tao has pledged to help revolutionise the sports in Angola, given China’s experience in the sector.
