Luanda - The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has published the official calendar for the 2022/23 season, which begins on 28 August, with the Super Cup match between Petro de Luanda and Desportivo da Huila.
The opening match opposes the national champions (Girabola) to the winners of the Angolan Cup, the second biggest football competition in the country.
In this edition, it will be played against the finalist of the Angolan Cup, in this case, the Huila team, since Petro won both competitions of the 2021/22 season, namely, Girabola and the Cup.
The first division national championship (Girabola2022/23) is scheduled to start on 03 September 2022, and will end on 21 May 2023.
The draw for Girabola is scheduled for 17 August 2022, after licences are issued on the seventh of the same month.
Overall, the 2022/23 sports season runs from 1 July 2022 to 31 June 2023. The period from July 1 to August 31, 2022, is reserved for registrations, followed by the inspection of fields for the Championship from July 15 to August 20.
