Lubango - Although Artur Almeida e Silva obtained only two votes in favour, in Huíla province, local sports leaders are waiting for changes and improvements in the fulfilment of his electoral programme for the four-year period 2020-24.

Speaking to ANGOP, in Lubango this weekend, the administrative director of the CDH, Ezequias Domingos, said that the club did not consider the reelection of Artur Almeida e Silva as a consequence of the flaws committed in the previous term.

However, he believes that, once re-elected, he should significantly improve football at the various training levels, as well as look beyond Luanda.

He said it was necessary for the leader of the country's soccer governing body to succeed in persuading the provincial governments to improve the infrastructure of degraded sports structures.

The chairperson of Benfica Petróleos do Lubango, Jacques da Conceição, who also admitted that he did not vote for the winner, said that his programme had favourable elements to increasingly dignify national football.

In this regard, according to the leader, Huila intends to count, among others, on the support of the second division teams.

"Football only advances if there is good leadership, otherwise we will continue to break this sport in the country," he said.
