Dundo - The Lunda-Norte sports group Sagrada Esperança will be electing its future management body for the new Olympic cycle on the 30th of the current month.
The announcement was made on Sunday in the Lunda-Norte Province by the secretary general of the club's assembly, Jorge Uefo, emphasising that so far only the ongoing president, José Muacabalo, has presented a candidacy for his own succession.
He said that during the assembly, to be held in the city of Dundo, the draft statutes of Sagrada Esperança, the accounts report and the election of the new board will be analysed and approved.
José Muacabalo took over the presidency of Sagrada Esperança in January 2020, during a balance sheet and mandate renewal assembly, where he received 66 votes in favour, none against and no abstentions.
During his term, the club won two trophies (Girabola2020-2021 and the Angola Super Cup/2021).
Founded on 22 December 1976 in Dundo, Sagrada Esperança were national champions in 2005 and 2021, winners of the Angolan Cup in 1988 and 1999, as well as the Angolan Super Cup in 2021.
The club has made several appearances in African competitions, playing in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1989 and 2000.
It took part in the Confederation of African Cup (CAF) in 1992, 1998 and 2020, as well as the African Cup Winners' Cup in 2005 and 2006. In 2021 it competed in the CAF Champions League, qualifying for the group stage.
With only one sport (football), it is currently taking part in the National Football Tournament called "Girabola2023-24", having come third with 27 points. HD/MRA/DOJ
