Dundo- Petro de Luanda consolidated Saturday their lead in the top division championship (Girabola 2022/23), after beating Sagrada Esperança 2-1, in the 27th round, marked by aggressions between players, and against the referees, as well as fainting fans and arrests.

Petro’s goals were scored by Jaredi and Gilberto, at 35 and 45+4 minutes of the first half.

Sagrada even scored a goal at 43 minutes, but the referee Jose Chitunda annulled it on alleged offside, a situation that angered the fans, who began to throw objects on the field.

The match registered five stops and the consequent intervention of the National Police, in the first half, due to aggressions and throwing objects in the pitch by the fans.

Faced with resistance from fans, the National Police launched tear gas, forcing the fans to leave the stadium.

During the riot there was a record of more than 40 lightly and seriously injured, evacuated to the Hospital of Dundo.

After the dispersion of fans, the game resumed an hour later, with Sagrada Esperança entering more offensive, seeking to reduce the score in the opening minutes.

At 90+2 minutes, defender Lulas scored the sole goal of Sagrada Esperança.

With this result, Petro de Luanda now have 62 points, and, thus, consolidate the Girabola lead, taking an important step in the race for the title, while Sagrada Esperança, with 49 points, remain in the third place.
