Sports Journalism needs to be rescued - National Director

Luanda - Angolan sports journalism references should help rescue the class, as it was in the past, the national director of Information and Institutional Communication of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication (MINTTCS), António de Sousa, said on Saturday.

The official, who was speaking to ANGOP following homage to 24 journalists by the Angolan Sports Press Association (AIDA), Mr. Sousa said young people need to share experiences with seasoned journalists.

The national director added that the MINTTCS has programs well targeted to the training of professionals in the sport class, so AIDA should work in partnership with the Center for Training of Journalists (Cefojor).

Journalists who stood out from 1986 to 1995 as Tito Gourgel, Pedro da Ressurreição, Salas Neto, Severino Carlos, Amândio Clemente, Tito Júnior and Matias Adriano received a diploma of merit for their activity.

The Sports Press Association was created on 1st February 1997 to bring together Angolans who practice journalism nationwide.
