Luanda - Central defender Kialonda Gaspar stated that Angola must play, without fear, with African and world football powers to become equally great, alluding to Friday's clash against Nigeria, in AFCON 2023, which takes place in Côte d `Ivoire.

Speaking to the press about the quarter-final challenge, at 6 pm, at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, in Abidjan, the player of “Estrela de Amadora” of Portugal recognizes the capacity of the Nigerians, but adds that Angola also has its arguments.

“The greats of football were once small and if Angola wants to grow it should not fear facing teams like Nigeria”, reiterated the athlete elected “Man of the match” in the victory over Burkina Faso (2-0), on the 23rd, in Yamoussoukro.

The former Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte footballer says that the group is focused and is working towards the unprecedented semi-final, even though the opponent is Nigeria.

Throughout Angola's participation in this 34th edition of the continental competition, Kialonda Gaspar has aroused interest from clubs such as FC Porto (Portugal), Lille (France) and CSKA and Baltika (both from Russia).

The 1.93cm central defender, born in Dundo (Lunda Norte) 26 years ago, is valued at €1million by the 'Transfermarket' portal, but has a release clause set at 7.5 million Euros.MC/CF/DOJ
