Petro de Luanda crush opponent, increase chances to retain title

Luanda – This Thursday title holders Petro de Luanda played at Kilamba Multipurpose Arena and thrashed Interclube by 104-65, in the second encounter of the play-offs, the best of five games, in the final of the national senior men's basketball championship.

 

With this second win, Petro de Luanda are one victory away from retaining the title obtained in 2019.

 

For that purpose, coach José Neto's players only need to win Saturday's match, at Cidadela court.

 

After the 92-71 triumph in the first game, last Tuesday, today  Petro de Luanda did not find any difficulty to overcome the opponent, and in the first quarter they won by 27-23.

 

The comfortable advantage of the winning team came at the end of the second period where they already won by 58-32.

Petro de Luanda's point guard, American Antwan Scott, was the best two points scorer of the game with 17 points.

 

The other Petro player, power forward Aboubaka Gakou, scored 16 points and had an equal number of rebounds.

 

Roberto Fortes, Interclube player also scored 14 points.
