Pretoria - Petro de Luanda beat Cape Town Tigers 100-88 on Sunday in Pretoria, thus redeeming themselves from their opening defeat in the Kalahari Conference of the African Basketball League (BAL), which is taking place in South Africa.

In the history of games, the national champions lost to Morocco's Fus Rabat (73-82) on Saturday afternoon at the SunBet Arena, the venue for the competition.

Glofate Buiamba was the top scorer of the game with 17 points, the same as Carlos Morais.

With this result, Petro de Luanda have picked up three points and are scheduled to play Dynamo Basketball Club from Burundi at the SunBet Arena in the third and final match of the first phase.

Omar Bermudez from Mexico, Haythan Ihaqaf from Libia, Mahamadou Diallo from Mali are the referees of the competion.
