Dundo – Sagrada Esperança have spent 50,000 US dollars to sign a 27-year-old Mozambican striker, Pachoio Lau Há King, for a two-year contract, the club's president, José Muacabalo, said Monday.

The player, who has long been sought by the Angolan club, is expected to add more options to the attacking side of the team taking into account his skills.

Muacabalo added that the team have also signed the seasoned Angolan central back Fabrício from Santa Rita de Cássia and re-integrated the midfielder Joca from his loan at Desportivo da Lunda-Sul.

He said that a goalkeeper was also signed from Vita FC of Kinshasa (DRC), but he won't be able to play this season because the club didn't sign him up yet.

The Mozambican striker on his turn, pledged to do his best to help the team achieve the goal of finishing in the top three spot and qualify for the African Champion Clubs League or the Nelson Mandela Cup (second largest African clubs competition).

Born in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, Pachoio Lau, 1.65 metres tall, has 1,486 minutes played for União Desportivo do Songo in 17 games and a record of 15 international appearances for Mozambique national team.

Lau King scored 10 goals in Moçambola (Mozambique’s championship) this season with Desportivo do Songo FC.

Currently, Sagrada Esperança are in fifth position in Girabola (Angola’s championship) with 28 points, as a result of eight wins, four draws and an equal number of defeats.

The club have already been national champions twice (2005 and 2021) and won the Angolan Cup (1988 and 1999) and the Angolan Super Cup (2021)
