National Handball team prepare for world cup in Huíla

Luanda - The senior males national handball team, are carrying out in Lubango City, southern Huíla Province, from December 14th to 3rd January 2021, the second stage of preparation ahead of their participation in the world cup, set to take place in Egypt.

There was also the possibility of the national team to hold preparation games in the provinces of Huambo or Benguela, but the vice president of the handball federation, Nair Almeida, confirmed the group's departure on Sunday (13th) to Lubango city in southern Huila province where coach José Pereira “ Kidó ”and the summoned players  will continue the work, after 20 days of preparation games  in Luanda.

 

The official said the aim is to improve the 23rd position of the 2019 edition, among 24 participants, in the joint organization of Germany and Denmark.

 

Taking place from 14 to 31 January 2021, in Egypt, the next world cup will bring together, for the first time, thirty-two teams, with Angola in group D with the counterparts of Qatar, Japan and Croatia.

 

Here are the summoned players: Giovani Muachissengue, Custódio Gouveia and Ariel Silva (goalkeeper); Cláudio Lopes and Manuel Nascimento (center); Adilson Pestana, Edgar Abreu and Manuel Domingos (right backcourt); Mário Tati, Declerk Sibo, Edvaldo Ferreira and Ruben José (left backcourt).

 

Cláudio Chicola and Otiniel Pascoal (left winger); Adilson Maneco, Mayomona Panzo and Agostinho Lopes (right-winger) and Gabriel Teka, Jairoslav Aguiar, Félix Samassolo and Agnelo Quitongo (pivot).
