Sílvio de Sousa selected for National Basketball Team

Luanda - Sílvio de Sousa was called up for the national basketball team, while Olimpio Cipriano is the remarkable absence for the third and last qualifying for the African Championship "Afrobasket 2021", to be held from 19 to 21 February in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The former University of Kansas player, who currently works under a private coach, responds to a lawsuit in which he is accused of assaulting a US citizen in 2019.

It is the first time that the player, whose early stage started at Angola’ 1º de Agosto basketball team, is called to join the national team.

Angola are in group B with Senegal, Kenya and Mozambique.

The national team debuts on February 19 against Mozambique, the next round they will face Kenya and on February 21 Senegal.
