Luanda - The Angolan General Tax Administration (AGT), from January to December of last year collected 43.9 billion kwanzas in the form of Urban Property Tax (IPU).

The said contribution came from owners of properties (flats, houses or land), on which the tax is levied, the head of the Tax Services Department, Osvaldo Bravo, told Luanda commercial radio LAC.

For the payment, taxpayers, according to the AGT, should go to the Tax Office of the area where the properties are located, to make the payment, in a single annual instalment, different from other years limited to two.

The official explained that in the event of difficulties in paying by December of each year, taxpayers may write for the possibility of paying in six instalments until the end of the year in question.

Every year, AGT evaluates the property value, hence the need to take into account factors such as location, "age" of the property, availability of services (water, light and sanitation) and construction area.
