Doha - Angola intends to establish a strong business and economic partnership with Qatar to boost its economy, the Angolan ambassador to Qatar António Coelho Ramos da Cruz said on Thursday in Doha.

Speaking about Angola's participation in the 2023 Horticultural Expo, the Angolan diplomat said the increase in bilateral cooperation would soon be formalized with the signing of an agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA) and its Qatari counterpart.

The Angolan government, the diplomats said, is fully committed to promoting and attracting investment and to establish partnerships that help leverage the diversification of its economy, and that the embassy has been working to convince Qatar of the potential and business opportunities that the African nation offers.

"Our capacity is great. We think that our offer will attract Qatari businesspeople," the ambassador said, adding that Angola protects businesspeople and their investments, in accordance with the principle of reciprocal advantages.

The diplomat underlined that the advantages for Angola are clear and include diversifying its economy and creating jobs, especially for young people.

Antonio da Cruz said the participation of Angola in the 9th edition of the "Made in Qatar" fair represented a great opportunity to make direct contact with Qatari businesspeople.

The "Made in Qatar" fair took place from November 29 to December2 and was attended by 450 Qatari companies and several foreign businesspeople interested in new partnerships and business opportunities.SR/AC/AMP
