Luanda - The Angolan Government and the World Bank (WB) are working on the preparation of the report on climate change, development of the country and the blue economy, the Secretary of State for Planning, Milton Reis said today in Luanda.

Speaking at the usual briefing of the Ministry for the Economy and Planning, he noted that, for that purpose, that ministerial department had met with the WB technical team to deal with issues linked to Angola's participation in preparing the document.

He said that the role of the MEP in the preparation of this report was to provide the World Bank with statistical data and information about the impact of climate change on Angola's economic development and the country's strategy for the blue economy (of the sea).

On the occasion, Milton Reis explained that, in relation to the Government Macroeconomic Programming for 2021 (2nd Revision), the MEP, the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Angola concluded the exercise of consistency of the macroeconomic variables for the revision of the PME 2021.

He detailed that this second revision presents the evolution observed in the main macroeconomic variables, in the first half of 2021, taking into account the dynamics of the international context and the assessment of the effectiveness of the economic policy measures adopted by the Government.

The official also said that preparations were underway for the 6th Ministerial Meeting between the government of the Republic of Angola and the European Union, which will be preceded by a high-level technical meeting, on 19 and 20 October, in Brussels, to deal with Angola-European Union (EU) cooperation.
