Anpg releases Congo and Kwanza basins tender outcome

Luanda - The Angolan National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) published, on Thursday, the results of the awarding of the nine oil blocks of the 2020 bidding, for the Lower Congo and Kwanza Basins.

According to a press release issued by ANPG, to which ANGOP had access, the blocks will be exploited by national and foreign business groups made up of operators and non-operators.

Of the nine oil blocks, three are located in the Kwanza maritime basin (blocks CON/1, CON/5 and CON/6) and six in the Lower Congo maritime basin (blocks KON/5, KON/6, KON/8, KON/9, KON/17 and KON/20).

The Angolan company, SOMOIL will operate in the Kwanza Basin, in block 1 with a 40% stake, MTI ENERGY will operate in the Congo Basin, in block 5, situated in the Lower Congo basin in blocks KON/5, KON/17 and block KON/20, with a 50% stake in the first and 60% in the others.

MINERAL ONE will operate in block CON/6 with a 35% stake, ALFORT PETROLEUM will operate in block KON/8 with a 50% stake.

The national company AIS ANGOLA will operate in block KON/9 with a 60% stake.

The document said that in the next few days the national concessionary will notify the winning companies of the date and place to start the process of negotiating contracts, and the final composition of the contracting groups will take place after the conclusion of that process.
