Police seize vessels for illegal fishing in Soyo

Mbanza Kongo – Two artisanal vessels were seized Wednesday in the municipality of Soyo, northern Zaire province, for illegal fishing off the Angolan coast.

The seizure of the vessels, called “Agência zola kuamesso and Nkembo2”, from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is the result of a patrol carried out by the Police Border at the Mbubu naval post.

Eighteen citizens on board the fishing vessels were also arrested, according to the spokesman for the Provincial Branch of the Ministry of Interior in Zaire province, Sérgio Afonso.

 

Police bans attempted border violation in Mbanza Kongo

Twelve citizens from DRC were also arrested Wednesday in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo for attempting to enter the national territory illegally.

In an operation carried out at the Luvo border post, the Police seized 18 boxes of frozen fish bound for  DRC.
